Colon Cell Health: In double blind, placebo-controlled trials as well as prospective cross-sectional observation studies, higher dietary intakes of both calcium and vitamin D have been positively associated with healthy colon cell function. Selenium has attracted attention for its ability to maintain healthy prostaglandin metabolism, cell cycle function, and cyclooxygenase enzyme activity in colon cells. Herbal support for healthy cyclooxygenase enzyme activity is provided by extracts of turmeric, green tea, and ginger while 5-LOXIN® AKBA boswellia serrata`extract provides support for maintaining healthy 5-lipoxygenase enzyme activity and healthy colon cell metabolism. Additionally, these extracts play the important role of neutralizing reactive oxygen species to protect colon cells, an antioxidant function. Flavonoids and polyphenols in the form of quercetin and pterostilbene provide additional antioxidant protection while helping to maintain healthy gene expression at the cellular level. In one study, subjects supplementing with a combination of curcumin and quercetin observed support for healthy colon cells at an average of 6 months during the trial. What Is The Source?  Calcium and selenium are derived from limestone. Vitamin D3 is derived from lanolin. Turmeric extract is derived from Curcuma longa root and standardized to contain 95% curcuminoids†. Quercetin is derived from dimorphandra mollis. Green tea extract is derived from Camellia sinensis leaf and standardized to contain 65% total tea catechins, 23% epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) and 7% caffeine. Ginger extract is derived from Zingiber officinale root and standardized to contain 5% gingerols.  Boswellia serrata extract is derived from the gum resin and standardized to contain 30% acetyl-11-keto-betaboswellic acid (AKBA)††. Pterocarpus marsupium extract is derived from the tree and standardized to contain 5% pterostilbene. Broccoli sprout concentrate (20:1) is derived from the whole Brassica oleracea italica plant.  N-Acetyl-l-Cysteine (free-form) is synthetic. Are There Any Potential Side Effects Or Precautions? Several ingredients in this formula have been associated with gastrointestinal side effects, including abdominal pain, heartburn, nausea and diarrhea. In rare cases, green tea can cause dizziness, insomnia, agitation or fatigue.  Rarely, quercetin has been associated with headache, while NAC has been associated with hives. If pregnant or lactating, consult your physician before taking this product.

Are There Any Potential Drug Interactions? Calcium should be taken separately from thyroid medications and bisphosphonates. Several ingredients in this formula are contra-indicated with blood thinning medications. NAC is contra-indicated with nitroglycerin. Quercetin may be contra-indicated with certain antibiotics.
